At Trace Your Ancestry I realise the importance of good communication so that both clients and I can be sure that I'm the right person carry out the relevant research.
Because of this I offer to all prospective clients enquiring about Family Research up to half an hours free advice when we can discuss what it is hoped to achieve, what the research might entail, what information the client may, often unknowingly, already have.
That consultation is without obligation on either side; if you do not think I am the right person you are under no obligation and if for any reason I do not wish to continue with the work I will not be obliged to take instructions from you. If the reason is that I do not think anything will be gained by pursuing your quest I will tell you.
I will also tell you if I think that another researcher would be better placed to do your research, because of their knowledge about a particular time period, record, or geographical area.
To take advantage of the Initial Free Consultation go to Contact Me and send a message or e mail me at tya@christinewibberley.co.uk
After the free consultation if you wish to proceed and I wish to accept the commission I will prepare an initial research plan and costs estimate or fixed quotation.
My costs are based (unless I am preparing a Starter Package) upon an hourly charging rate, depending on the work to be undrtaken (see below).
No charge is made for the preparation of the research plan and estimate or quotation.
I do not charge travel time or costs for travelling to Lancashire Archives, Bury, or Bolton but would require a commission of three hours of research time at these archives.
All other travel is charged at £14 for each hour.
You will not be under any obligation until you have approved the research plan quote or estimate, and instructed me to proceed.
For terms of business and payment terms, which, if you instruct me you will be taken to have accepted (unless we both agree other terms in writing), please go to Terms of Business and Some Frequently Asked Questions.
Hourly rates for different types of work are shown below. Time is charged for each hour, or part of an hour divided into units of six minutes.
Out of pocket expenses are charged at cost so that, for example, a birth marrige or death certificate will be charged at £9.25 (£11 on and after 16 February 2019) and a copy of a will proved after 1858, £10
